Each limited-edition print is produced on premium 310gsm Canson Photo Rag paper, hand-numbered and embossed with my signature. Prints are carefully rolled and shipped in a protective tube to ensure they arrive safely and ready to frame.
Some of life's greatest discoveries begin with curiosity... and ice cream.
I created Pink Rockpools after spending a hot afternoon exploring the rock platforms of a beautiful beach on Darkinjung Country with my sister, Melissa, and my niece, Isabella.
The rock pools had almost dried in the summer heat, leaving delicate white rings around their edges.
"That's salt," I said.
Naturally, Isabella challenged me to prove it.
I explained the family rules.
"I don't do dares for free."
After negotiating payment in the form of an ice cream, I lied down on the rocks and gave the mysterious white ring a cautious lick.
It was definitely salt.
As I lied there strategising my rise, something else caught my eye.
Millions upon millions of tiny craters covered the rock beneath me.
An entire microscopic landscape had been sitting there all along, waiting patiently for someone to notice.
Had it not been for one ice cream-motivated dare, I may have walked straight past it.
Instead, I captured the moment in my mind and hurried home to paint what I'd discovered.
Pink Rockpools was born that very afternoon.
The following day, I couldn't stop thinking about these incredible micro-forms, so I painted Blue Rockpools as well.
For several years, Pink Rockpools became the face of my business, appearing on my business cards as a reminder that extraordinary beauty often hides within the ordinary.
The original artwork now lives with the Office of the Public Service Commissioner as part of their Aboriginal Employment Strategy.
To me, this painting is a celebration of curiosity.
It reminds me that slowing down, asking questions and saying "yes" to adventure can reveal entire worlds we never knew existed.
